Pura Vida Spa…ahh! is now exclusively making soap for the Ontario Spring Water Sake company. Located in downtown Toronto in the historic distillery district, the Ontario Spring Water Sake company uses traditional Japanese methods to brew sake (rice wine). One of the by-products of sake production is sake kasu. Sake kasu contains kojic acid and may benefit your skin by slowing the ageing process, help even out skin tone and decrease your skin's ability to form the type of melanin found in age spots and freckles.

Why Natural, Handmade Soap is good for your skin
Your skin is the largest organ in your body. You should take care of it. Our soaps use some or all of these skin-loving oils and can help itchy, dry problematic skin, including eczema. Natural handmade soap is good for you because it does not contain detergents or harmful ingredients that may aggrevate your skin or an already exisiting problem such as eczema. Oatmeal added to soaps also soothes itching. Listed below are the properties of the oils that are used in our soaps. If you want topical relief on the go, try our Moisturize Me Body Balm, made with several different oils that is applied directly on dry, itchy, skin for relief.
